Preface
This is a short book of positions I keep returning to.
The raw trail is public. On X I write as devendrasm, in my own words and without AI. Those posts are sometimes rough, incomplete, or imperfect in grammar on purpose. They are how I actually argue in the open.
This book is different in form. It is ghostwritten from those posts and related notes, selected for durability rather than recency. The claims are mine. The continuous prose is assembled so a reader can sit with a spine of ideas instead of hunting a feed. On the website, that assistance is disclosed the same way the rest of the site is.
I did not try to cover everything I have ever said. I picked posts that still seem load-bearing: how understanding is earned, why ground work beats performance of concern, how youth and skill form, what institutions actually do, and how tools change the shape of work without abolishing judgment.
If you want the unmediated voice, read me on X. If you want the quieter compression, stay here.
