Abundance and scarcity reshape behaviour
Much behaviour people moralise is downstream of abundance or scarcity. When those conditions change, manners and discipline change with them.
A lot of behaviour you see online and offline can be attributed to abundance and scarcity. As those dynamics shift across the world, people will change with them. Respect, discipline, and what we call civilized behaviour are not floating virtues; they are partly supported by conditions of plenty or pressure.
That does not excuse cruelty or cancel duty. It does warn against assuming that habits formed in one economic weather will survive another without deliberate cultural work. Economics shapes culture more than polite conversation likes to admit, and culture in turn decides whether economic pressure produces discipline or decay.
