Academic results are not industry skill
Academia is often assessed on results and placements. That need not translate into the skills industry actually needs.
Usually academic performance is assessed on results and, in some places, on placements. That need not translate into skills that industry needs. Marks can be high while the ability to build, ship, maintain, and take responsibility under real constraints stays thin.
I do not dismiss degrees. I refuse the lazy equivalence between exam success and readiness for production work. Bridging that gap is someone’s job: industry, better programmes, or the student who refuses to treat the marksheet as the whole story.
