Plans about industry, technology, and national ambition all rest on whether the young are being formed into people who can carry hard work.
Industries that want capability cannot fully outsource formation. They need education and training programmes as early as is allowed and possible, even though the investment is large and the benefits take years. Colleges will often show passive resistance rather than open refusal: busy with their own schedules, they lack navigating room for real collaboration unless someone with authority and passion owns the work. The future does not wait for that ownership to appear by accident.
