Choose discomfort on your terms, or it chooses you
Real solutions carry pain. Either spread that discomfort deliberately over time, or face it later with no control over timing or magnitude.
Many can see the problems. Solutions are often extremely difficult to implement, made worse by wrong incentives in the current environment. Those solutions will not be without pain and discomfort.
Either we deliberately take that discomfort and spread it over time so it is less severe in any one moment, or it arrives on its own, with no control over when and how much. Reform that waits for a painless path is not patience. It is a preference for surprise later.
