Demand rises for people who can build whole systems
Hands-on people who can architect and build complete systems while understanding business goals will be more valuable wherever they sit.
The demand for top-percentile hands-on people with the ability to architect and build complete systems, while also understanding business goals, will grow wherever they are. Narrow task execution gets cheaper. End-to-end ownership does not.
That is a formation problem as much as a hiring problem. Schools and firms that only produce partial specialists will keep wondering why the scarce profiles remain scarce.
