Social pressure still points youth toward one path
In places I work, many still treat the twenties as years for government-job preparation, with private building treated as something that can wait. Skill work fights that current every day.
In Uttarakhand I see a pattern that is not unique to the hills: many people, young and elder, treat the twenties as the decade for government job preparation, with private work imagined as something for which there will always be time later. Even someone who starts in private work often faces strong social pressure from relatives, friends, teachers, and influencers to leave and prepare for a government exam instead.
When young people put up technology skill work in public, they can still be told they are wasting time. That message will be repeated. Regions like this need large social awareness work, not only courses. Whether that can scale without serious public and social institution involvement is an open and difficult question. What is not open is the fact of the pressure. Anyone building skill paths here is swimming against it.
