Training raises the threshold before we break
Beyond control and knowledge we call things luck. Training does not remove chaos; it changes how far we can go before things feel beyond us.
Everything beyond our control and knowledge can be attributed to luck. When things seem beyond comprehension and control, people do what people do. Everyone has a different threshold for reaching that stage. Training plays a role in changing that threshold.
To exist in hard work, a threshold often has to be crossed. Experience teaches, but not everyone the same lesson. The useful ambition is not to eliminate uncertainty. It is to push the point at which uncertainty collapses judgment a little further out, through preparation that was paid for before the crisis.
