Tools are great; will and agency still decide
Learning tools are better than ever. Developers who have agency and can learn still need will. Without that, the tools sit unused.
Developers who have agency and can learn are coming for work that used to look closed. The tools to learn are great now. Will and agency are still needed. Access without initiative is a library no one enters.
I am optimistic about tools. I am not confused about what they cannot supply: the decision to start, persist, and finish when the feed offers easier sensations.
