Work ethics form early

To address skill-gap and unemployment challenges, it is critical to inculcate right work ethics in youth. As M. Visvesvaraya wrote, work-ethics training within households and social circles matters. Curriculum and schemes arrive late if discipline, initiative, and enterprise never formed in the rooms where a young person first learned what effort looks like.

One contribution available to almost anyone is closer than policy: guide youth around you toward capacity for work. Formal programmes help. They do not replace the daily examples that teach whether work is something one does carefully, or something one performs for appearance.

Industry is part of nation building, not only profit. Capable workforce requires long-term investment of time and money, and that is exactly where most hesitate. Governments can encourage collaboration; implementation in letter and spirit still needs employers who treat training as infrastructure rather than optional theatre.
